The Inner Journey and GOALS
Share
Can we talk about dreams? Those things that make you feel alive. PASSIONS. The things that make you want to get out of bed in the morning. What are the things you love to do? What do you love to talk about?
I have a few things over the course of my life that I feel like I've been truly passionate about. It's actually how I became a voice teacher. It's also why I became good at it. I've taught voice for 20 years. How is that even possible? How have I been teaching music for 20 years? I'm only 29. :)
Over the last 20 months, I've had to make a lot of shifts. I've been forced to flex and exercise creative muscles I honestly didn't know I had. I officially launched Shemazing Designs in January 2020. March came and, I am pretty sure we can all agree that 2020 was exhausting. However, 2021 started to feel like a trend back towards normal. For me? It almost broke me at one point.
For those of you who are new-ish, allow me to catch you up briefly - I have MS. I am immunocompromised because of a disease modifying treatment medication (DMT). I am vaccinated (2 doses in March 2021, a booster in August 2021 - after my 2nd dose and 3rd dose, I had produced 0 antibodies so just for fun I did a 4th in November). 2021 was a year of me choosing to stay home in order to stay well. No craft shows. No in-person workshops - the typical things a new small business like mine would do to gain any sort of momentum. For us, it's DoorDash, grocery deliveries and pickups, and we haven't been 'home' to see our families since 2019.
Sometimes (ok, most of the time) when we're at our lowest points, we do some of our best thinking. I had some real moments of contemplation this year and knew that 2022 needed to look at little different - for me and for you. So, this is where DREAMS come in. PASSION. I do love lettering and I love sketch notes. I feel like my work is starting to show a feel of those worlds coming together. However, I did ZERO workshops in 2021. I don't love not getting to see all of you in person, but I do love the access factor that remote workshops bring. So, in 2022, I'm bringing back workshops.
We will kick off our workshop series for 2022 in January with Let's Sketch Goals - not resolutions - GOALS. We will learn about methods and approaches until so that you can find something that works for you. We will spend time sketching through the S.M.A.R.T. Method and learning the value of visualizing your goals.
Join me on January 15 Let's Sketch Goals together!
