Have you heard of the 10,000 hour rule? There is a book entitled Outliers where the author claims it takes approximately 10,000 hours of practice in a field to achieve mastery. It seems likes a lot, right? 10,000 hours. It actually is. 416.67 days. 3 hours a day for 9 years.
So, I'm here to offer some encouragement. I am no where close to 10,000 hours of practice. I am maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of the way there. I would like to be real and show you where I started vs. where I am now.
The truth is, I look back at some of these and I smile and shake my head. The old me would want to cringe a little, but this me, the me that is learning to embrace how far I've come, not just with lettering, but with accepting and embracing who I am, what I have, where I am - ALL OF IT, this me is happy for proof of a journey, the pretty and (let's be honest) the not-so-pretty.
If you've tried before and gave up, let me encourage you to try again. If you've always wanted to try and just thought you could't. You CAN. You simply have to START.
